Paste di Mandorle
Paste di Mandorle is an imitation of the traditional Italian biscuit of the same name. In the jewellery work the anise pastilles are replaced by cast and glazed porcelain beads. Pink acrylic forms the „paste“ using a material from dental technology.
Pietzsch is fascinated by the colours and appearances of all kinds of sweets, from the mass produced to the most sophisticated of artisanal confections. As stimulants they are linked to human desire. With this works the artist relate to this subject she always sought to establish a very intimate relationship between the wearer and the jewellery.
